The original KoW Team Tourney has returned from the pandemic stronger than ever and is ready for year 4! Grab your partner, pledge to a brawler, and come enjoy 5 games of 2v2 Kings of War action! Both players bring a 1000 point force and duke it out to see if their combined might can best their opponents! No partner, no problem! Reach out to our TO and we can either loan you a local or find another out of towner! 

Meddlesome Brewing is one of the premiere breweries in the Memphis area, and drinking will be encouraged, but fear not, this is also a kid friendly venue with non-alcoholic options available too! (they make a killer root-beer and cream soda)

The Mountaineer GT returns in 2022, sponsored by Troll Hoard Games and Your Hobby Place! Purchase of your ticket reserves your spot for the event, limited to 60 signups, as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday (pizza, sandwiches) and a BBQ dinner on Saturday.

The event will be held at the Comfort Inn Aikens Center in Martinsburg, WV (1872 Edwin Miller Blvd, Martinsburg, WV 25404). Room rates are $89/night and can be secured by calling the hotel and mentioning you’re attending the Mountaineer GT (304-263-6200).

A One day, four game,  tournament will be held on Sunday, July 10th,
2022 at Dragon Knight Games in kingston, Pa. Armies will be 1300 points. This
is a speed event, Each player will have 45 minutes per game. Players are
encouraged to bring chess clocks.

Closest major airport is Seatac (SEA), but there are a few closer that may service your area such as King County International Airport (BFI). Both are about a 30 min UBER/Lyft ride. Earlier you book your flights the better your costs will be. The hall is 5500 sq ft, more than enough space to house both the masters and the best of the rest event all in the same room.

Hospitality

This bid will have something different. Instead of having a hotel bar at expensive prices and limited options, we’re going to be hosting a hospitality room. This will be a special hotel room close to the venue where we will have a bar setup. We’re going to get some pony kegs brought in with local craft beer and presell commemorative drink containers that will have unlimited refills until the kegs run dry. (Above costs of making the mugs will all go to purchasing these pony kegs of beer, so more presold mugs the more different varieties of kegs we can bring in).

• COMPOSITION RULES: Kings of War version 3 rules and Clash of Kings 2021 ​

• $15 entry fee will go towards tournament prizes and lunch

• Army Size: 2300 ​

• Allies = 25% or less from a single other army list per normal restrictions ​

• Clock = 140 minutes – 70 per player ​

• Unique Units = Allowed ​

• Please bring 4 copies of your list, one for the TO and each opponent.​

• Lists are due the morning of the event at check-in. They will be checked for accuracy before the start of round 1

• Each player will be granted one reroll of a single D6 per game.
• Each Table will have set terrain maps for each round. The map will include two height-3 hills, two height-9 forests, two height-2 walls, two height-6 impassables, and 2 flat difficult ponds/fields.
•     Scoring

• Over the Course of 3 rounds there will be up to a possible 21 Battle points per game

• Win = 14 / Draw = 10 / Loss = 7 ​

• Depending on objective and attrition modifiers this number will change. A scoring sheet will be provided at the beginning of each game.

A single day Kings Of War Tournament 

Points: 3000 Point Armies per team. Each player has up to 1500 points to build each half of the Army. See special rules below.

Please bring 2 copies of your army list(one for you and one for your opponent to use during the game) 

Table Layouts:

Maps will be generated in advance for each game.

Information: Missions, Maps, and Army lists will be released on Friday September 30th.

Clean Play: When movement might be in question you should mark your units starting position. If a unit is not marked, and a judge must make a ruling on a move, the judge will rule against the moving player. 

Scoring: 20 points for a win, 10 for a draw, 5 for a loss. In addition there will be up to 5 points available in attrition differential each game.

< 300 = 0

300-599 = 1pts

600-899 = 2pts

900-1199 = 3pts

1200-1499 = 4pts

1500 =5pts

Models: Models should be painted. Painted models contain at-least 3 colors and the bases are flocked or painted.  Models must accurately depict the units the are representing. If you feel there might be an issue, please clear it with the TO in advance. 

Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd placed Generals.

Best Painted Unit- you must submit your unit to be judged. The unit must be painted by you to win. 

Best Sport- you will select your top two opponent teams at the end of the day. 

Special Rules:

Each 1500 point half of the army is restricted to the normal rules for a 1500pt build(up to two monsters, heros, war machines, titans etc.).

Can only include 1 version of each unique character each even if your partner is also playing the same faction(there is only one groany snark etc.).

Can only include 1 copy of each magic item per army(there is only one conjurers staff etc.).

Inspire counts across the entire army(ally rules still apply). 

One hero level character for each player will be nominated as the “Commander” and gain a rally 1 aura(this only effects your own half of the army).

Fright
Night is a one day, three game 2300-point Kings of War tournament that will be
held Sunday, October 16^th, 2022 at Dragon Knight Games in Kingston,
PA. Each player will have 70 minutes for each game. Chess clocks are encouraged
but not required. Round one will be Dominate. Round two will be Control. Rounds
three will be a homebrew scenario complete with exploding pumpkins.

 

$20 entry fee includes: donuts, pizza, door prize, and raffle
entry.

Awards include: best general, runner up, best new general, best
painted army, and crappiest luck. Each player will have chess clocks are
encouraged but not mandatory. Scoring will be based on the Loaded Dice Scoring
System. (Win 15 points, tie 10 points, loss 5 points, 1 point for every 300
points you destroyed, and 1 for every 600 points of yours to survive the
battle)

The Dragonfall GT is a Kings of War quasi-narrative tournament held over two days in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin supporting the Dragonfall Charity Gaming Event. All proceeds from this event benefit Extra Life, Doctors Without Borders, and Feeding America. This event is a 2,200-point thematic event set across locations all over Mantic’s world of Pannithor. In addition to the core army, each player will bring a unique titanic, custom-made Dragon to lead their army, built by each player to their specific needs. Each round’s game will be fought in unique locations around Pannithor for specific goals, giving some in-world meaning to the typical tokens and zones of scenario play. To ensure a fair and even distribution of game time between players, each table will play with a chess clock or equivalent mobile application.

Oldest consecutively run GT in the US, celebrating its eighteenth straight year! 32 players will compete in a single-elimination bracket tournament to crown one winner! Those who have lost (and those who want a more laid back tournament) play in a 5-game standard Swiss matchup tournament to determine all the other placements (those who lost in the elimination bracket get to join the Swiss tournament for all the other games, carrying their battle score over with them). Hosted in the unique Rathskeller bar in the heart of downtown San Antonio, with a hotel right across the street and tons of activities nearby for the family, the Alamo is a must-attend destination for the US GT scene. You owe it to yourself to make the trip out at least once!

A 2 (and a bit) day extravaganza of Kings of War festivities in the glorious city of Edmonton. Come and enjoy prairie hospitality along side some excellent gaming.

We will be playing 5 games over 2 days (3 Saturday, 2 Sunday) at 2150 points V3 with CoK22 rules in place. Scenarios will be from the main rulebook, but each will have a slight twist based around the theme of the Bard. As well, each player will have their choice of 3 different bards to support their forces (for free) or a special “bard killer” for those who cannot stand those charismatic fellows.

We have space for 24 players currently. Armies should be painted and based to a minimum 3 colour standard. Minimum model count (50% 1 models in most cases) is sufficient. Models should be a reasonable representation of what a unit should be. If you have questions, feel free to contact the event organizer if you’re worried!

Registration will include your choice of 3D printed bard miniature, lunch on Saturday, and covering the cost of the venue. There will be trophies for “best ofs” in various categories along with prize support from various suppliers. Open gaming and set up will be available on Friday night and it is planned to hit the town on the Saturday night for grub and grog.

Located in the heart of the Canadian Prairies, Edmonton has a thriving gaming scene, but we want you to come and experience it for yourself! This is our first 2-day event and we’d love to have people come and check it out.

Welcome to the home of the LoneWolf Tournament of Texas, a Kings of War Grand Tournament.

Formerly one of the largest Warhammer Fantasy GTs in Texas,
Lonewolf GT has a rich history of epic competition, top caliber players
and some of the coolest trophies around. We have continued that
tradition into the Kings of War era.

For decades, Lonewolf has stood as one of the premiere
fantasy wargaming events in the south. Since the shift to Kings of War
in 2016, Lonewolf has grown to be among the largest competitive Kings of

Note there is more time than the allotted 65 minutes per
player. This allows for set-up, clean up, scoring and time to introduce
yourself to your opponent. Also, the game halls will be open until 12:00 on
Friday and Saturday and Clean up must be done by 8:00pm Sunday.

There are also many other events at the MIGT – including Armada, Firefight and Deadzone for Mantic Games. So make sure to check those out as well, games start first thing on Oct 6th! Mantic will also be there with their booth!

Please join us for our first NC KoW event in a very long time. This is a one-day, 4 game, 1995 event. Each round will be 90 minutes with 45 min for each player. There will only be 6 turns for each round with no roll for turn 7.

The store opens at 10 am which is when registration starts. First round begins at 10:30. We will play round 1 and 2, break for lunch, and then play round 3 and 4 with awards afterwards.

Prizes based on attendance for:

• Best painted (by tournament judge)
• Player’s choice army (voted by the players) (8 players)
• 1st based on total points earned overall
• 2nd based on total points earned overall (8 players)
• 3rd based on total points earned overall (12 players)
• The Wooden Spoon

The Original Kings of War Doubles Tourney is back again and held once more at the Meddlesome Brewery in Memphis, TN on October 21 and 22.

Teams are composed of two players, each with a 1000 point force that will play them together on the same table in 2v2 combat! In addition you get to choose one unit to upgrade in homage of your brawler of choice for wacky buffs and topical drawbacks!

Come with your own team of two, or choose from our stable of dependably mediocre brawlers to drag them through 5 games of fun with a slight hint of debauchery! (Note- the brewery itself is Kid Friendly and does serve soft drinks as well as a slew of beer and some seltzers.)
